Polkemic - producent profili i obrzeży meblowych

Information on the product

For the last few years the furniture industry has used plastic edge banding as a finishing material for furniture edges.

As the first company in Poland Polkemic started the production of plastic edge bandings at a professional level.

We launched this high-class product on the basis of the solutions developed by Polish engineers with the participation of our own capital alone.

We are a company based on the Polish capital only.

The newest technology and many years’ experience in plastic processing allow us to offer a high-quality product, which is not different from the more expensive offer of Western competitors.

Polkemic edge banding perfectly enriches the design of any piece of furniture and emphasizes the good taste of those furniture-makers that take great care of the highest quality and aesthetic appearance of furniture they offer.

The depth and precision of a woodgrain pattern enclosed by a perfectly-made edge banding gives the furniture-makers a deep confidence that the finish of the product they offer to their customers is harmonized perfectly with the furniture design. An elegant appearance of the edge banding in close symbiosis with high-quality PVC used in the production process provides unlimited opportunities and room for creativity in the designing process.

Comparing to paper or melamine edge bandings, as well as to finishing profiles, the PVC edge banding is characterised by:

  • higher durability and better aesthetics
  • much higher impact strength
  • ideal adherence to the board
  • the presence of moisture does not result in that the edge band is subject to deformation or comes unstuck
  • no scratches or loose chips occur
  • much higher resistance to wear
  • higher scratch resistance
  • adequate flexibility, which facilitates adherence to the board
  • the edge with a Polkemic banding applied looks more attractive

The Polkemic PVC edge bandings meet all relevant EU standards, all health and safety regulations and do not contain harmful substances such as cadmium and lead. It has obtained an attestation from the National Institute of Hygiene, which allows its use in public utility buildings.
